If the Republican Party had one tenth the courage and determination of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, we might not be having this conversation.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio speaks to the media in Phoenix, after learning that he is to be sued by the US Justice Department.
Sheriff Joe has stood like a rock throughout attack after attack by the liberal Marxists, and never wavered in his determination to serve the people by whom he was elected. Joe is a gutsy, no-nonsense lawman who says just what he thinks and does what he says he’s going to do, which has been to incarcerate some 10,000 offenders, both domestic and illegal alien.
President Obama’s government has singled out Arizona for punishment, for being the first to stand against the statist tyranny of Washington. Eric Holder, at the orders of Barack Hussein Obama, initiated a lawsuit against Arizona’s anti-illegal alien legislation SB 1070, which had passed with overwhelming support from the people of Arizona. Gutsy Conservative Governor Jan Brewer stood against Obama’s hectoring. She told Holder to go pound sand and informed reporters that she was confident that the State’s argument would prevail.
In the meantime, it’s not like this is Joe Arpaio’s first rodeo with people who would love to see him dragged down. He’s faced them all and he’s still here. Now he’s become such a pain in the posteriors of the drug traffickers that they’ve put out an open contract on his head. Joe’s defiance has helped bolster the confidence of other border lawmen to stand up against an illegal rogue government that is obviously bent on the destruction of our society, at least as we know it.
Joe is an everyday American hero. There are heroes just like Joe all over the country. Look around. They’re your friends and neighbors… your family… your community. Keep at it Joe, we’re with you.

To say that President Obama’s speech, marking the retirement of our last combat units from Iraq, was uninspiring… well, it was uninspiring. As usual, he’s taking credit for something that was planned back in the Bush administration. He did acknowledge former President Bush in an offhand sort of way, making it almost an insult.

We know Obama doesn’t do ad lib, so it makes you wonder about some of his writers. It’s like they are as far out of touch with the pulse of America as Obama is, maybe more so. The speech was short for Obama, but then he hasn’t much to say these days… just the same updated re-written garbage that he’s been spieling for two years.
The speech returned to his economy, and make no mistake about it, it is his economy… George Bush retired two years ago, though you wouldn’t know it to listen to some of the liberal backwash out there. There’s no amount of spin that can disguise the fact that George Bush left us with a budget deficit of 400 billion dollars plus, which was bad enough in the opinion of most conservatives.
Barack Hussein Obama has lied, cajoled, bribed and corrupted the political process with his phalanx of Marxist apparatchiks and regulators… choking the life out of American business. He has blasted his way through 1.85 trillion dollars.
If you look at it from that aspect, it’s not surprising he doesn’t have much to say.

In the five day news cycle of politics, that’s the blink of an eye. Liberals got a good look at the real America when Glenn Beck’s call to God and country caused a mere 600,000 or so of you to pay your own way to travel to Washington DC.

I wrote in February 2009 that there was a ‘different’ feel out here… people were visibly, and more importantly audibly, upset at Barack Hussein Obama’s abrupt shift to the left. I said, that in this day and age of instant communication, he wouldn’t be able to hide who he really is for long.
I was gratified to be right, as layer after layer of spin, cover and distortion were stripped from Obama’s public persona, and people were able to see beyond the glitz and canned goodies into the frightening, gray world of deprivation and poverty that would be the inevitable result of the triumph of the left.
The people came together, first in town hall meetings and then at the Tea Parties which sprung up all around the country like mushrooms after a spring rain. Their message was remarkably consistent, though they had no apparent leadership on anything other than a local volunteer level.
Conservative values, the defeat of the Obama agenda and the reversal of health care, smaller government, tax cuts and preservation of the Republic are consistent messages throughout. We The People… we’re coming to take our country back. Then we’re going to be asking some very pointed questions.
The Republican leadership is under scrutiny as well. There are many who think that, if given the opportunity to lead again, they’ll revert to type and be the ‘Democrat light’ party insiders who perpetrated us getting thrown out of the leadership to start with. Just being elected to office is not going to guarantee anything any longer. We’ll monitor every person we elect. We’ll question and criticize and, if our elected representatives don’t toe the line, we’ll replace them.
Constitutional Conservatism is sweeping the country. Americans are rising up against the threat to our freedoms. Support them. Get active in your neighborhood and with your district Tea Party. Urge everyone you know to register. Tell them that this will be the single most important vote of their entire lifetimes.

Bulking Up – US Fuels Israeli War Machine. |

And a thirsty one it is indeed, as they all are. The United States has sold Israel two billion dollars worth of military fuel stocks. That’s about 444 million gallons of JP-8, unleaded and diesel fuel.

Israel’s air force would use prodigious quantities of fuel in an all-out air assault against her enemies that could last for days. The tanks and mobile artillery won’t be slow consuming huge amounts of fuel either. This, right in the face of Barack Obama’s biggest push to neuter Israel, by promising a ‘nuclear shield’ to protect her from her enemies… if she promises not to attack Iran. Note to our Israeli friends: Barack Hussein’s promises are as empty as his economic policies.
It’s remarkable that the administration that has done everything in its power to prevent the Israelis from defending themselves against the real and present danger that is fundamentalist Iran, is the same one that is supplying the one strategic assurance Israel needed to prosecute a sustained military effort.
Israel’s quick and final solution to the Galant issue pretty much put a stop to the speculation that it was a red herring to distract the Arabs from Israeli war preparations. The US, Germany, France and UK air forces have been training, simulating operations over Iran.
Syria’s armed forces are at their highest alert status. Hamas continues to agitate and Hizballah concentrates forces in Lebanon. Israel must move soon. We should move with her.

I’ve figured it out… we’ve got this all wrong. There have been 3.5 million new and saved jobs since Obama took office. We know ’cause they told us so.

The problem is, it’s not the truth. It’s not even close to the truth. The truth is that the American people aren’t buying the story lines any more. The spin scarcely has time to get started before we tear it apart and subject it to the ‘new media review’. By the time we unravel it, there’s not much spin.
I guess we’re all sort of stunned out here, watching this administration self destruct. It’s not just that Barack Obama and that pack of amateurs he has in his government are wrong in their approach to governing and economic policy for this country. It’s that they have been, and are, wrong about every single thing they’ve done since taking office.
With the November 2 elections right around the corner, the desperation in some corners of the Democrat establishment is palpable. With the clock running out, so are the options for incumbent Democrats, some of whom have already fallen by the wayside in primaries across the nation… with many more to come.
If the mood of the nation remains as ugly as it is today, it will become a historical event. It can’t come soon enough. Clock watching is hard work.

Another incumbent, this time a Republican, has fallen by the wayside. Lisa Murkowski becomes the the seventh incumbent to fall to the wrath of the voters this year.
Joe Miller and Lisa Murkowski
Murkowski was defeated by conservative lawyer Joe Miller of Fairbanks for the Republican primary. Miller came out of nowhere, backed by the Tea-Party groups and aided as well by an endorsement from Sarah Palin.
I’m thinking that even the thickest of the Democrat faithful must be aware of the upcoming shellacking that the DeMarxist government of Barack Hussein Obama is going to take in November… only 62 days away now.
We as Conservatives must now rededicate ourselves to the final drive to the November 2 elections. Mark Levin calls the upcoming elections “the most important of our country’s history”, and I have to agree. Never have I seen and felt so much intensity on the run up to an election.
It has nothing at all in common with the rock ‘n roll concert glitz campaigning of Barack Obama and his DeMarxists on the way to the presidential elections. It has everything to do with the voice and power of the American people. In March of this year, I wrote that the American genie was out of the bottle and once loose would take down the liberal monster. I’m happy to have been proven prophetic. We’re not home free yet, not by a long shot.
That’s where you come in. You’re looking for some way to help but don’t know how? It all starts with your community and by backing conservative candidates whenever they are running. It’s all grassroots, just like the Tea Parties and the Patriot groups. America is rising up and speaking out and we will not be denied.

It’s not his Waterloo… that comes later… it’s more like Napoleon’s retreat from Moscow. It’s like Obama is absolutely overwhelmed with the job of the presidency. Nothing in his background, or training, had prepared him for the reality of the biggest job in the world.

I think Obama was fascinated by the idea of being president. I don’t think he, or the cabal of leftists he has gathered around him, have a clue as to how to run anything, much less this country. The Marxists have managed to unite this country as perhaps nothing else could have.
Obama has had a tin ear from the outset. He has proven to be so ideologically driven that not even the impending Conservative tsunami looming in November will sway him from his vision of fundamentally changing American life and values. This is not a Bill Clinton, with someone like Dick Morris to convince him to move to the center in this center-right country.
Obama’s horizon sees only that which is permitted by his vision. He’s oblivious to the rhythms of the nation or the opinions of the electorate. He repeatedly attacks the new media for doing what the lame-stream won’t… telling the American people and the world the truth about Obama, and the DeMarxists’ rush to break down our society.
Obama’s foreign entanglements, including his apparent support for Muslim countries over our long time allies, is another Obama blind spot. Barack Obama truly does need to be a one term president.

That Was The Week That Was #4. |

After the excitement of the primaries at the start of the week, it was pretty much back to business-as-usual. The same old rhetoric, blame-shifting and outright lies from the doomed Democrats.
Joe Biden
The howler of the week was courtesy of none other than Joe Biden, gaffe-master extraordinaire. Stating that the economy recovery was slower than he would like, he insisted that we are headed in the right direction. So was the Titanic, Joe. It doesn’t take a master cartographer to read the economy map. If you take the Cartesian coordinates of unemployment, private sector expansion and market confidence, you’ll probably find yourself somewhere in the Bermuda triangle of failed stimuli.
I’ll give Joe one thing… his timing was impeccable, the mark of a gifted comedian. A few days after his remarks, a GDP figure of 1.6% was announced which, in any known universe except the Democrats’, is hardly a move in the right direction.
On Wednesday, it was revealed that former GOP Chairman Ken Mehlman had announced to family and associates that he was gay. While his reluctance (or should I say hesitancy?) to ‘come out’ earlier was perhaps due to possible reactions of Republican colleagues, it was the liberals who supplied some vicious character attacks. While I do not agree with Mr Mehlman’s now open support of gay marriage (not to be confused with civil partnerships, the legal implications of which I have no objection), I applaud his courage and his remarks on the dangers that Islam poses to minority groups.
Some of the nasty comments I read from liberals, calling Mehlman a hypocrite and worse, reminded me of the offensive comment by Harry Reid, when he said that he didn’t know how voters of Hispanic heritage could be Republican. Well, it may be news to the Democrats, but not all Hispanics, blacks or gays dislike America and the Constitution. The liberal assertion that they should all be Democrats is an insult, which implies that all minorities are gullible and lack common sense and decency. To declare such is to pigeonhole all minorities, something they claim (falsely) to oppose.
This distrust of Democrat hypocrisy was borne out by the results of a Rasmussen poll this week. Voters now place more trust in the Republican Party than in Democrats on all ten major issues. On the economy, taxes, national security, health care and immigration, the percentage points difference ranged from 16% to 8%.
One thing that was evident in the survey is the majority support for Arizona-type immigration legislation in the voters’ home states. While John Morton’s ICE agents carried out a successful operation in rounding up 370 illegal immigrants, many guilty of heinous crimes (kudos to Mr Morton for that), there were many in Texas that had already been arrested being released without trial.
John Morton
Mr Morton explained that ICE has to prioritize, given their limited resources. That is fair comment, but it does highlight the need to outsource immigration control to the individual states, who are willing and able to implement the law, given the chance. It is time for the Federal Government to support law and order, rather than pander to the extremist groups who claim Constitutional protection for aliens. The Constitution is there to protect legal American citizens.
For the Obama administration to cite their opposition to the Arizona Bill in a report to the UN Human Rights Council, on the grounds of ‘racial profiling’ (a total fiction, as the bill prohibited this practice), is another example of their desire to diminish the respect of the US on the international stage. This quote from the AP article: “High unemployment rates, hate crime, poverty, poor housing, lack of access to health care and discriminatory hiring practices are among the challenges the report identified as affecting blacks, Latinos, Muslims, South Asians, Native Americans and gays and lesbians in the United States.”
The very report is discriminatory, as it does not mention the fact that white heterosexuals are also subject to these problems, especially the unemployment that has resulted from Obama’s government and the hate crimes instigated by liberals against Republicans, which seem to become more prevalent. It would be interesting to read the reports submitted by some other countries, say, Venezuela, the Arab countries and Iran.

With the notable exception of John McCain, the national Patriot movement has had significant results backing strong Constitutional Conservatives. Rinos continue to pay the price again, with that one notable exception.

To our Arizona friends. I hope you chose wisely. I can’t help thinking that people like Lindsey Graham and John McCain will revert to type. More than willing to sell out his principles, McCain is perfectly capable of secret deals with the DeMarxists, as is Graham. We have no choice but to watch them like hawks and force them to behave.
Hey! Anybody out there want to lay any bets on how long it’s going to take our boy John to revert to type? I say one week. But he has talked a hell of a tough game on the border and illegals, since he had his border epiphany.
Dick Morris is openly calling for both the House and the Senate to change hands in an historic repudiation of the leftward movement of our government. Yes, the people do have a voice in our system and they are making their voices heard in historic numbers.
The grim statistics that are coming out of the economy pretty much say it all. Record mortgage filings, the lowest real estate sales in fifteen years. We lost 500,000 jobs last month, companies are afraid to hire and investment is virtually frozen.
All political prognosticators are calling for a Republican sweep of the House. I think that’s great, and I say let’s take the damned Senate too. While we’re doing that, let’s pray to God for the wisdom to do this right.
